Female Franchise Founders
More and more new franchise systems join the industry each year. They can be in a wide variety of categories, from food and fitness to fun and family entertainment.
The common theme that is emerging is a shift to more women owned concepts converting into a franchise.
These companies are not only led by female franchisors – they are also being joined by women in business – as franchisees, suppliers and vendor partners.
This is especially rewarding to see, because I have been in the industry since it was dominated by men. While the evolution has been continuous, it is gaining more momentum. Soon, we will outnumber them – in CEO roles and senior level management – at industry conferences and conventions, too.
Innovation often comes from necessity – and we all know the saying “necessity is the mother of invention”. I didn’t make that saying up, but it seems appropriate to me as I look back on the most recent brands we have helped launch.
They are led by women, moms or daughters who found gaps in services or products needed. Instead of waiting for someone else to create it, they did. Their efforts inspired others and continue to improve lives.
Now may be the right time to convert your business into a franchise – serving new entrepreneurs with an opportunity to open a business in their local community. Whether you create a fresh take on an old concept, or craft something completely new as an emergent offering, yours ideas are welcome.

Most franchisees open a new business in their local area help customers solve a problem, save time or receive a better product or service. If you see a gap in the community this may be your calling.
