For more than 29 years, Home Helpers® Home Care has been achieving record-breaking growth and continuing to innovate and enhance its multi-profit center model. This makes it easy to understand why the company has grown to more than 300 franchises.

However, record-breaking growth isn’t simply about attracting new franchisees. It’s about ensuring franchisees have a solid foundation on which to grow and scale.

Home Helpers Home Care stands out in the crowded in-home senior care franchise space by going the extra mile when it comes to early-stage support for new franchise owners. Bobby Kelley, vice president of franchise development, shared that helping new franchisees build a strong foundation is a top company priority.

“We have an entire onboarding team that is with our new owners for two years,” Kelley said. “This team strictly concentrates on ensuring that new franchisees are hitting benchmarks and addressing all those issues that people encounter in their first two years.”

Because this isn’t the industry norm, Kelley explained the reasoning behind this unique approach and the results it delivers.

“Everyone talks about their success stories year three, year five, year seven. Well, those success stories are just scale,” he said. “They are inspiring, but they do not always help someone understand what to do on day one.”

So, we’re helping them concentrate on getting from $0 to $1 and understanding what the first month should look like, the second month, the third month and beyond, instead of just saying you’ll be great in three years.”

Kelley also explained that Home Helpers Home Care’s dedicated onboarding team creates a strong 24-month ramp-up period during one of the most important stages of a franchisee’s business journey.

“The market will allow you to scale, and the industry is booming. However, to come into it with a very sound base is the important piece because that is the unknown,” Kelley said.

What’s even more impressive about the program is the composition of the team because every member has managed, owned or operated their own business or home care agency.

“We don’t just build operations managers or support teams. These team members, who are holding our new owners’ hands from day one, understand the challenges of building and running a business because they have experienced them firsthand,” Kelley said.
