After building a successful career as a litigation attorney and holding leadership roles at Strayer University, Chandra Quaye reached a point where she wanted to redefine success – she wanted more time with her children while continuing to build wealth.
“I was missing so much of their lives. I needed a way to maintain or increase my income with a more flexible schedule and was longing to move beyond income into wealth building,” Quaye said. “HomeVestors® of America, Inc. was my pathway to maintain a professional and lucrative facet of my life while also being more present for my family.”
After her position was eliminated, Quaye started her own property management company. One of her first clients was a local real estate investor.
“He was buying so low and generating so much cash flow that I asked how he was finding such amazing deals,” Quaye said. “It turned out he was a HomeVestors franchisee.”
She decided to dig deeper into the opportunity and discovered that HomeVestors offers a proven system, mentorship, and investment infrastructure.
“The best thing about HomeVestors, in my opinion, is the network,” Quaye said. “As a newbie, it was great to have experienced investors holding my hand through my first transactions. Whenever I had a question, someone was always available. The vendors, especially the lenders, also offer so much value.”
In addition to franchise ownership, Quaye has served as Advisory Council President in Fayetteville, North Carolina, for three years. She acknowledges that operating in a male-dominated industry can present challenges, but credits her background in law with preparing her to navigate them with confidence.
Quaye said brand recognition has also helped her succeed.
“People know the brand, and some don’t want to get offers from competitors,” she said. “Even vendors that do not have an official partnership with HomeVestors prefer to do business with me.”
Looking ahead, Quaye is excited about what her future in the industry holds.
“My goals at this point relate to succession planning,” she said. “I want to find the right person to take over management of my company someday. I also am seriously considering an additional franchise when the time is right.”
